Vegan Travel Tips
- Before you know it, summer will be behind us. While the weather is good, pack up your car with vegan snacks and hit the road!
The Vegan Mom came up with a list of 15 vegan cooler essentials. Her ideas are especially helpful if you’re traveling with some little ones. - For more travel snack inspiration, check out the guest post Diary of A Vegan wrote for The Blissful Chef. She put together a list of food staples for international adventures.
- JL from JL Goes Vegan also has some advice on what to pack for a summer vacation. But that’s not all! Check out her vacation recipes.
- Does the idea of traveling as a vegan stress you out? Karol from Ridiculously Extraordinary offers up some simple and healthy meal ideas for vegan travelers. I don’t agree with his opinion on what to do if you order vegan food that turns out to contain animal products (he says eat it anyway or find someone who will), but there is some good info in his post.
- Rather than look around for vegan-friendly restaurants, some vegans prefer to book accommodations with a kitchen and make their own meals when away from home. The Tropical Vegan shared some of her travel meal ideas, like black bean burgers and falafels.
- If you’re a raw vegan who likes to travel, be sure to read Natasha’s tips for being raw on the road. She suggests stocking up on homemade trail mixes, dried fruits, seasoned nuts and seeds, and dehydrated crackers. If you’re a green smoothie fan, find out how you can enjoy a green drink in the air, despite airport securities strict liquid restrictions.

Vegan Travel Bloggers
- What can a vegan eat in Sweden? Megan from Sweet On walks you through two days of eating and sightseeing in Stockholm. Megan also wrote about United Airlines vegan offerings and returning home to new and familiar vegan foods.
- If you’re not able to travel this summer, consider bringing some international flavours into your kitchen. Tiffany from Bread without Butter wrote a post about veganizing some of her favourite desserts from around the world. It’s an international mix, with sweet creations from Japan, Belgium, Vienna and Turkey.
- China is coming up on our radar and looking like it will be the last stop on our trip. We expect it will be a challenge at times to find vegan food but are encouraged by articles like this one written by an American vegan who finds nirvana in China. Blissfully Vegan also has some restaurant reviews from her recent trip to Beijing.
- While in Amsterdam, we had the chance to eat at De Peper, an all vegan and organic restaurant with a pay-what-you-can menu that changes each day. If you want to get a feel for the place, check out this cool video review by Chepoair.
Sometimes you can squeeze a vegan eating adventure in on the weekends. Maria from the Vegan World Trekker recently spent her weekends dining out in Montreal and Cape Cod.
