I'm planning to study abroad in Egypt this summer (or whenever trouble there dies down) and your blogs are so relieving!
I was worried about whether I'd be able to have a good experience as a vegan living in Egypt, but you're posts have cured me of all of my worries!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful food adventures!

Not sure if anyone alerted you yet to the two typos in the title...I only mention it cuz if it were me, I'd wanna know :)

Ahh, there you go, inspiring MORE Egypt-lust in me...le sigh. Yes, even despite all the annoying haggling I know would be in store for me :)

Those are some crazy colored spices or teas or ... I don't even know what!

Looks like quite an adventure.

I would be interested in hearing more about how you handled so many languages. I remember some of your (and guest post) tips on learning the words for specific things vegans will want to avoid, but I'm still amazed at you trying to negotiate in these Egyptian markets!

I love the pictures of the herbs and spices and the temples. How frustrating to have to haggle over the prices and have them be that high in the beginning.
