  • Health Travels Booth in Toronto AirportVegNews assures us things are looking up for vegans flying during the holiday season. More and more vegan options are popping up in airports, and more airlines are offering vegan and vegetarian meals.
  • The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) just released the results of a study that found 82% of major US airport restaurants now offer at least one low-fat, high-fiber, cholesterol-free vegetarian entrée, up from 79% last year.

  • Sherri from Vegan Nosh has some advice on what vegan food items you can get through airport security.

  • Heather from Healthy Vegan Recipes delivers more great vegan travel advice this month, bringing us tips for cooking on the road without oil. She’s also started a discussion about whether or not vegans who choose healthy meals are missing out.

  • Airport lunchVegans who are frequently traveling for work will be able to relate to this consultant who has started a blog to document a three month challenge to eat vegan while staying in hotels and traveling from city to city on business.
  • Te Araroa On Veg is another new vegan travel blog. Starting in November, this brave vegan will set off on the Te Araroa track, a long-distance tramping track in New Zealand that covers around 3000 km and will take him about five to six months to complete.
  • The Urban Housewife recently moved to Vienna and has given us a peak into her new neighborhood. I’m sure the Vienna food posts are just around the corner. In the meantime, she recapped a recent trip to LA and highlighted some of her favourite places to dine in San Francisco.

  • Before you know it, summer will be behind us. While the weather is good, pack up your car with vegan snacks and hit the road! Car + Plastic GardenThe Vegan Mom came up with a list of 15 vegan cooler essentials. Her ideas are especially helpful if you’re traveling with some little ones.
  • For more travel snack inspiration, check out the guest post Diary of A Vegan wrote for The Blissful Chef. She put together a list of food staples for international adventures.
  • JL from JL Goes Vegan also has some advice on what to pack for a summer vacation. But that’s not all! Check out her vacation recipes.
  • Does the idea of traveling as a vegan stress you out? Karol from Ridiculously Extraordinary offers up some simple and healthy meal ideas for vegan travelers. I don’t agree with his opinion on what to do if you order vegan food that turns out to contain animal products (he says eat it anyway or find someone who will), but there is some good info in his post.Berlin Apartment
  • Rather than look around for vegan-friendly restaurants, some vegans prefer to book accommodations with a kitchen and make their own meals when away from home. The Tropical Vegan shared some of her travel meal ideas, like black bean burgers and falafels.
  • If you’re a raw vegan who likes to travel, be sure to read Natasha’s tips for being raw on the road. She suggests stocking up on homemade trail mixes, dried fruits, seasoned nuts and seeds, and dehydrated crackers. If you’re a green smoothie fan, find out how you can enjoy a green drink in the air, despite airport securities strict liquid restrictions.
